What the site handles

The site does not ask you to create an account and does not collect information through a web form. If you contact Sofie by email, your email provider and the receiving email service will process your message separately.

The hosting and security services needed to deliver the site may process technical request information, such as an IP address, device or browser details, timestamps, and security events. They may use cookies that are strictly necessary to operate and protect the site.

Optional Google Analytics

The Google tag is present on each page so its installation can be recognised, but analytics measurement and storage are denied by default. Only after you choose “Accept analytics” is Google Analytics configured to collect page views, referring pages, general device and browser information, and approximate location. Woke Scientists uses this information to understand which content is useful and improve the site—not for advertising or profiling. After consent, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_*. Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services.

The legal basis for this optional processing is your consent. Analytics retention is controlled in the Google Analytics property and is reviewed periodically so information is not kept longer than needed.

Your choice and your rights

You can accept or reject analytics in the banner. Use the Cookie settings button on this page or in the footer to change your choice later. Rejecting after previously accepting stops future analytics and attempts to remove the first-party analytics cookies stored by this site.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or an objection to how personal data is handled. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
